What's on in Kidderminster

Kidderminster is the largest of the three Wyre Forest towns with a population of over 55,000 residents. The town is 17 miles southwest of Birmingham city centre and 15 miles north of Worcester city centre.

William Brinton established his carpet factory here in 1785. The sector remains a significant employer in the area, with Brintons Carpets providing jobs to several hundred people. Today, Brintons continues to be the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality woven carpets.

The town’s Weaver’s Walk and Crossley Retail Park offer a useful range of stores including Marks & Spencer, Next, Sports Direct, Sainsbury’s, Pets at Home and The Range. Independent stores are returning to the town centre, including some high quality food offers. An open air street market is held in Vicar Street and High Street every Thursday and Saturday. Stalls offer a wide variety of goods and the Kinver Catering Company are well known for delicious hot food, including their famous speciality sausages.
