Stourport-on-Severn is located at the place where the River Severn and River Stour meet and is the only town to have two rivers in its name! The town came into being in the 18th Century, when the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal was built, culminating in the series of basins, linking to the River Severn. Today, the town has a population of around 20,000.

During the late 19th Century, Stourport-on-Severn became a popular summer destination for visitors attracted to its riverside pleasure parks, boat trips, camp sites and pubs. As narrowboat ownership increased in the 20th Century, the basins became a popular mooring site and Stourport on Severn’s canal basins and Georgian buildings have been re-generated.

The high street boasts a good range of local shops, with some great independents offering delicious cakes and pastries, jewellery, gifts and services such as hair and beard care, beauty and dog grooming! There is also an amazing range of takeaways, pubs, bars, bistros and cafes for every taste.
